Meat and vegetable filled “hot Asian buns,” steamed dumplings, hearty soups, made today salads, and rice or noodle bowls topped with teriyaki chicken or kung pao chicken, served with signature homemade ginger ale and Thai iced coffee.

Job Requirements

Responsible for the sale, preparation, presentation, and service of menu items as requested by guests and management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following:

  • Capable of utilizing salesmanship techniques when taking order.
  • Respond knowledgably to questions about the restaurant and menu.
  • Present and encourage current promotional information to guests.
  • Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile & anticipate their needs.
  • Follow all steps of service as covered in training.
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers & guests.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, attitude every shift.
  • Thank each customer with sincerity & a smile
  • Accept direction & constructive criticism from management.
  • Perform calmly & effectively in an extremely busy & stressful work environment..
  • Accurately account for and balance all sales & receipts at the end of the shift.
  • Accurately process payment(s) from guests.
  • Secure management approval for any comps or voids.
  • Become proficient in all equipment after the restaurant specific training period, including the Point of Sale system, Frequent Diner and Gift Certificate terminals, credit card terminals, telephones, kiosks, etc.
  • Answer telephones, take orders, and take messages according to restaurant specifications.
  • Maintain food safety & quality standards
  • Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests & presentations.
  • Prepare ingredients needed for recipe of menu items.
  • Follow all prescribed portioning controls.
  • Understand & read an order, either handwritten or computerized.
  • Understand & follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
  • Accurately & appropriately call out the order numbers.
  • Know how to calibrate & read a thermometer correctly & accurately.
  • Record temperatures of both hot & cold holding items every 2 hours using the specified log.
  • Safely & effectively use equipment, knives, & other specific utensils to complete the preparation of menu items or to maintain the store & its equipment.
  • Perform proper equipment cleaning/maintenance (such as deliming, polishing, cleaning, washing, etc.)
  • Maintain menu item counts & communicate to management & crew when running low.
  • Communicate any food delays to the coordinator & cashier
  • Accurately record & account for all items ordered & packaged.
  • Wear a hair restraint while on duty.
  • Move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven &/or slick surfaces.
  • Must wash hands regularly, according to guidelines.
  • Comply with all safety & sanitation guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean & orderly work area.
  • Understand and complete all sidework as assigned.
  • Help to keep all areas of the restaurant clean & maintained.
  • Pass a food test in English with a score of 90% or more.
  • Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
  • Communicate in English in order to comprehend & perform/follow job requirements in written & spoken direction.
  • Perform more than one task at a time.
  • Be able to work a variety of hours, days & shifts, including weekends & increased work schedules.
  • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise & temperature levels.
  • Regularly lift &/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift &/or move up to 25 pounds & occasionally lift &/or move up to 50 pounds.

GENERAL RULES Must be willing and able to do the following:

  • Get along with others & be a team player.
  • Follow all uniform & appearance guidelines as befitting the image of the restaurant for the duration of the shift.
  • Refrain from smoking for the duration of the shift.
  • Arrive to work on time & in ready to work condition.
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures & conditions of employment outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Communicate any/all problems to management immediately
  • May not work under the influence of alcohol or any illegal drugs.
  • May not resort to any type of violence, discriminatory or harassing behavior. 

Failure to abide by these and any other conditions of employment of the company set forth elsewhere can subject an employee to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
